Silver Rings
Timeless and classic. Silver has been used to make rings for at least 4,500 years, and it was more valuable than gold when it was originally introduced to ancient Egypt. Silver rings are simple, attractive, and reasonably priced. If you are in the market for a silver ring and are curious about their roots and just what sets them apart from the competition in terms of metals, you have come to the right place. This brief article is aimed to dive into silver rings and just what makes them so special.
Stunning Sterling Silver
The majority of silver used to produce rings is 925 silver, often known as sterling silver. This signifies that silver makes up 92.5 percent of the metal, while copper makes up the rest. Unlike fine silver, which is soft and malleable, sterling silver is robust and tough, albeit prone to tarnishing due to the presence of copper.
How to Wear Silver Rings
The best part about silver is that this timeless classic metal quite literally goes with everything. Meaning that it truly is the color metal that any man should consider adding to his flair. Silver rings are awesome in terms of their style because the color of the metal can easily be dressed up or down, making it the perfect metal to wear regardless of your personal style. Whether you are the laid-back family man or the well-to-do business man, you can easily be sure that there is a stunning and unique silver ring out there with your name on it.
How to Care for Silver Rings
Cleaning your jewelry, especially those silver items that tarnish so easily, is probably not at the top of your to-do list, unlike wiping down countertops or vacuuming the floors. This often-ignored cleaning project can be easy to put off because the silver pieces we wear every day, such as the silver earrings we never take off or a favorite necklace, don't always tarnish quickly. These commonly worn pieces usually only require a light polish every now and again. Finer silver jewelry that has been sitting in boxes or on trays for a long time, oxidizing due to exposure and lack of usage, may require a more rigorous scouring.
When subjected to salty air, chlorine, sulfur, humidity, perspiration, cosmetics, home bleach, and other harsh chemicals, sterling silver tarnishes. When participating in the following activities, we recommend that you store your fine jewelry in a safe, dry place to avoid tarnish as much as possible:
- Chores around the house and outside
- Swimming, showering, or bathing in pools, hot tubs, hot springs, or the ocean
- Cosmetics such as moisturizer, hair products, scents, and other cosmetics are used.
- Working out in the gym or participating in contact sports
- Meal preparation
Because silver is a soft, glossy metal, it must be cleaned with care. For cleaning everyday jewelry, a solution of warm water and mild dishwashing soap, or even baby shampoo, will typically suffice. This procedure is very effective for cleaning gold jewelry.
Warm water with a few drops of liquid dish soap In a mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients until bubbles form.
Soak jewelry for 5 to 10 minutes in the solution.
Clean any crevices with a soft-bristle brush, such as a toothbrush.
Warm water should be used to clean jewelry.
To dry, use a silver cloth or a microfiber towel to gently wipe the jewelry. Paper towels should not be used since they can scratch the silver.
Sterling silver, rather than pure silver, is most often used in the silver pieces in your jewelry box. Sterling silver normally contains about 7.5 percent copper, making it both stronger and more tarnish-prone than pure 99.9% silver (which is unusual). (The most common cause of corrosion on sterling silver jewelry is copper.)
Check the clasp for a marking that says 9.25, 925/1000, Sterling, S/S, or Sterling 9.25 to see if your jewelry is sterling silver or silver-plated. If you don't see these indications on your necklace or bracelet, it's undoubtedly silver-plate.
Why You Should Consider a Silver Ring
As previously stated, silver goes with any style meaning that it goes with any man. These rings are easy to care for, super cost effective, and regardless of your personal trends and overall fashion sense, you can rest easy knowing that your silver ring will add a sense of charm to fit your needs.
